GYM BOY

Hope everyone is fine. Crazy week on the sports front. One of the Cavs was stiffed in the all star selection process...then the Cavs owner rips the NBA for that...and the next day, the league mysteriously takes a rebound away from LeBron James and negates his amazing 52 point triple double at Madison Square Garden.

The Cavs are very ticked off..incredulous. The coach is puzzled. The guy who should be an all star (Mo Williams) laughed out loud when I asked him about the rebound taken from LeBron. He said he never seen that happen before. LeBron, perhaps to his credit did not meet with us today, but I could predict that he would try to downplay the whole thing. Top that off, Kobe and the Lakers were at the Cavs facility working out today, and Kobe said all the robotic things about the matchup against LeBron on Sunday. Hey, it will be fun to watch, no matter who wins.

On workout front, I am a little off in my numbers this week but have been insanely lousy in the eating front. No control. Need to return to really entering my meals in a journal. My weight is at its highest level in 7 months. Duct Tape over my mouth??? Yeah..that would do it!!

Was musing about what I would do if I owned a gym.

3 Ideas. 1. The parking lot would be a quarter mile away from the gym.
2. There would be an escalator to the second floor of the gym, which would be going down..so you would do a mini-stair master workout to get upstairs.
3. lots of sports equipment. Things to toss..to catch..to lift. Fewer machines...

A Penny for your thoughts!!!
Life's a Blast

Oh that escalator thought is just cruel!

Love you but the parking lot idea WOULD NEVER work. We have so many complaints about the parking lot at our gym. People are very particular about parking their cars.

...and there would be no freakin food bar, maybe only a beverage bar for requirements but no food!

no smoothie bar!
no booze bar!
no pool-that-turns-into-a-dance-club on Saturday nights!
no meatheads!

Got to watch that food at our age big guy (I am not suggesting anything). Myself, I am finally going to break that 200 pound barrier in the next week or so on my way to hopefully 185 by IMFL in November.

Take it easy and dont forget to enjoy the day...

Those two put in an incredible performance at the Garden this past week. Amazing. I've never heard of anyone taking away a rebound either! What's next? Taking away goals?

Where on earth do you people go to the gym? You have smoothie, food and booze bars? I seriously am going to the wrong gym. Mine has a water fountain, and even that doesn't always work.

Gym? What Gym? My gym is in the basement. The parking lot is an attached garage. There is an old treadmill that Jodi says will kill her some day. One old television and a big ball. This is how I keep such a stunning figure. Thanks for the blog.

I love the people at work that drive around for 5 minutes looking for a close spot especially on a nice sunny day.

As for a gym, no traditional weights. Just like tires and kettle bells and bands and stuff like that.

That's 2 thoughts. I'll take my 2 cents.

sheesh if you want a gym with a parking lot a quarter mile away, just join urban active at Legacy. It's impossible to find a parking spot. Which is so much fun when you are a big ol preggo and the parking lot is icy!

I love the escalator idea. you have to run up it to get in the gym.

I always found it funny how people going into a gym were so concerned about finding the closest spot

Classic escalator rule. The funny part is, we used to love doing this as kids - but we had to stay one step ahead of the mall cops who always chased us away.

Perhaps if you put the gym at the top of a mountain or something and you could only get down by one of those wire harness thingys but had to run/bike up the mountain to get in there? Seriously though most of the machines in the gym will hinder your results in the triathlon. This article explains why:
